Kentucky State Capitol: Art | Kentucky Field Trips
The Kentucky State Capitol is full of art honoring the people who made Kentucky what it is today, from the towering bronze statue of Abraham Lincoln in the rotunda to the watercolor portrait of civil rights leader Georgia Davis Powers in the Kentucky Women Remembered exhibit. The Capitol building features large artworks like the painted murals of Daniel Boone, and smaller ones like the popular First Ladies in Miniature porcelain collection. Let’s take a closer look at these varied artworks and learn a little about the artists who created them.
