Kentucky Legislature | Social Studies Shorts
Kentucky’s legislative branch is made up of two groups—the House and the Senate—also known as the Kentucky General Assembly. Representatives and senators meet every year at the Capitol in Frankfort to make laws, work on the state budget and more. This episode of Social Studies Shorts provides a brief overview of the three branches of Kentucky’s state government, then explores what it takes to be a legislator in Kentucky and the role this important group plays in our state.
