The Haitian Revolution | Finding Your Roots

Actor Issa Rae discovered that her ancestors were from Saint-Domingue (modern-day Haiti) and her fourth-great-grandfather was killed in the Haitian Revolution. In 1791, the enslaved people of Saint-Domingue rose up, launching what we now call the Haitian Revolution, considered the most successful slave revolt in human history.
