Students learn about feedback loops and the role they play in regulating the climate of a planet. Through the example of ice–albedo feedback, they explore the effects of a positive feedback loop that reinforces the increase in Earth’s global temperature. They learn how negative feedback loops balance conditions in the Earth system.
