Rising Sea Levels and Erosion | Georgia Outdoors

Sea level rise is causing erosion so severe that an entire ecosystem is threatened. This is evident on St. Catherine's Island through fallen trees and eroding sand hills. From 1951 to 1993, St. Catherine's Island lost 200 meters of land, and from 1993 to 2014, the ocean has claimed an additional 150 meters.
