LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Students will understand how decomposers are important in the movement of matter.
- Students will learn how decomposers (worms) recycle organic waste that was once energy from the sun back into the soil.
- Students will set up a composting bin to watch organic waste be recycled by worms, creating worm castings that are high in nutrition to be used on gardens.
- Students will make observations of the composting bin and document the findings.
