LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Students will understand how decomposers are important in the movement of matter.
Students will learn how decomposers (worms) recycle organic waste that was once energy from the sun back into the soil.
Students will set up a composting bin to watch organic waste be recycled by worms, creating worm castings that are high in nutrition to be used on gardens.
Students will make observations of the composting bin and document the findings.
