Independent Living Transition for Autistic Adults | Move to Include
Transitioning from one’s family home to one’s own place is an exciting and scary time. One family discusses the process, challenges and successes that came with moving their daughter with autism and epilepsy into an independent care facility.
Courtney has demonstrated various traits of autism since she was born. Today, she lives in a managed group home. Courtney has full-time support working on independent living and safety skills. She enjoys outings into her community, including participating in Easter Seals Iowa’s Life Club program.
