Molly and her friend Tooey hear a strange sound and discover that a small owl is hiding in the bunkhouse in this 11-minute animated story, "Bird in Hand," from the PBS KIDS series MOLLY OF DENALI™. In order to find out more about the bird, they look up information in a wildlife guide and come upon some unfamiliar words. They use strategies such as considering the written context and examining parts of the words to figure out what they mean. With what they have learned, they are able to find the owl a safe new home.
