Out of the Shadows: Helping to Sustain American Indian Culture | Idaho Experience
Learn how two women in the late 1800s, Benedicte Wrensted and Jane Gay, photographed the Nez Perce and Shoshone-Bannock Tribes of Idaho, effectively preserving historical references for future generations. Students will create a slideshow of their own to show how people continue to preserve and sustain their lifestyles today.
Please refer to the accompanying Facilitator Guide (found in the Support Materials section) for the fourth-grade Idaho Content Standards associated with this resource.
