In “Top of the Charts,” Emily Elizabeth gets inspired to create the happiest song in the world. She gets so focused on finding band members,instruments, and costumes that she forgets the most important part of making music—practice! Learn with Emily Elizabeth all that goes into making music as you create the Circle Time Band.

Emily Elizabeth, Jack, Pablo, Samantha and Clifford pool their talents and resources to create a community band. Students will create a unique musical instrument with their families—at home—using recycled materials. The instruments will then be used at Circle Time to bridge home and school through music making and practicing.  

Through these activities, your students will:

• Co-create instruments from recyclable materials with their families.
• Identify common attributes of instruments. 
• Practice motor skills. 
• Develop an understanding that materials can be repurposed to create new creations.
