Paul Robeson | New Jersey: Then and Now

Paul Robeson was an international actor and prominent equal rights activist during the first half of the 20th century. His admiration of the Communist Party in the Soviet Union brought on a federal investigation and turned many African-Americans against him. This resource explores the rise of Robeson, the McCarthy era investigation, and how his legacy as an activist for equal rights lives on in New Jersey today.
