Curvature of Space | Light Falls
This video from Light Falls explores how Einstein tackled the puzzle of how gravity works. He began by rethinking traditional notions of space and time, or what he called space-time. He suggested that space would be flat without any objects in it, but the presence of an object would cause space to curve around the object, creating a gravitational pull that affected other objects near it.
Explore this concept with your students, using the associated activity from the World Science Festival. For more on Light Falls, see the Educator's Guide in the Support Materials section of this resource.
