First Steps in Organizing | Austin Revealed: Chicano Civil Rights - Lesson 2

Students will view and discuss segments of the video series Austin Revealed: Chicano Civil Rights in order to identify ways Mexican-Americans in Austin, Texas organized into groups to elicit change; and analyze the Economy Furniture Store strike to identify its causes, characteristics and impact on the Chicano movement. Students will continue work on the posters of organizations that arose during the Chicano movement.
