It Wasn’t Really a School | Tre Maison Dasan
Dasan, 6, and his cousin Alivia learn that his mother, Stephanie, wasn’t really away at school for the past two years. With help from Telisa, a Department of Corrections social worker, Stephanie explains that she has been in prison.
Using Support Materials:
Utilize the support materials for the documentary, which have been organized to supply facilitators both with suggested guidelines for leading discussions around the film and issues presented, and also critical information on how to best acknowledge, work with, and support children of incarcerated parents in the classroom and community.
