Students will view and discuss segments of the video series Austin Revealed: Chicano Civil Rights in order to analyze the impact of the GI Bill for Mexican-American veterans, student movements at UT-Austin, and political campaigns by Mexican-Americans. Students will also view and discuss work done by Chicanos to improve conditions for Chicano teachers and students in Austin public schools. Students will use a drama-based activity, Frozen Pictures, to create a visual representation of a tactic used by Chicano activists.
