When it comes to digesting information about the landscape of a community’s workforce development, people need strong tools to successfully traverse the worlds of college, career and civic life. The American Graduate video series was created to help people learn about the essential skills needed for students and workers to succeed in current and future job markets. Members of KCPT worked with community partners, such as KC Rising, the Mid-America Regional Council, Kansas City Area Development Council, and education leaders, to assess workforce challenges and opportunities. KCPT has produced content through a series of 12 videos that will evoke crucial conversations focused on how Kansas Citians find pathways to gainful employment. The American Graduate video series will help students and teachers develop the intellectual power to recognize societal problems, create robust investigations, and unfold possible solutions and consequences to a community’s workforce development challenges.
