Catch-22: What It Means to Be a(n Anti)Hero | The Great American Read

Catch-22’s Yossarian is one of literature’s most famous antiheroes. But before we define what an antihero is, we need to know what a hero is. In this lesson, work with students to come up with the expectations for traditional heroes, and then define what an antihero is. They then compare and contrast examples of heroes and antiheroes with Yossarian.
