The daffodil (Narcissus) is a flowering perennial plant with around 50 species. The plant originated in the Mediterranean region, but now grows in gardens around the world, usually blooming in the spring. The bloom of the daffodil is most recognized by its trumpet or vase shaped center, surrounded by six petals in the shape of a star. This flower is most commonly yellow, orange, white or a combination.
