The buttonbush (Cephalanthus occidentalis) is a flowering shrub native to the southeastern United States that thrives in wet areas. The buttonbush has green, deciduous, oval leaves that grow in pairs. Its flowers grow in clusters that form one-inch spheres. The blooms smell like honey.
