Mayapple | KET Image Bank

The mayapple (Podophyllum peltatum) is native to the wooded areas of eastern North America, mostly along the coast. This plant gets its name because the flower blossoms in early May. Once its flower matures, it will form a small green fruit. Large amounts of this fruit are toxic to humans.
