Deborah Bial, Education Strategist | MacArthur Fellows Program

In this interview, 2007 MacArthur Fellow Deborah Bial explains why she developed the Posse Foundation model to increase college access for underrepresented population. Bial’s program evaluates potential candidates using a rigorous assessment process based on qualities such as leadership, teamwork, communication skills, and motivation. By demonstrating the importance of identifying and fostering latent talent, Bial continues to open doors for thousands of students and is helping to reframe college admissions into a more successful and inclusive process. This resource is part of the MacArthur Fellows Program Collection.
