Claire Chase, Musician and Arts Entrepreneur | MacArthur Fellows Program
In this interview, 2012 MacArthur Fellow Claire Chase talks about her evolution as a musician and how she became an arts entrepreneur. As artistic director of the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), Chase has assembled a cadre of approximately thirty conservatory-trained musicians devoted to advancing new music and playing an expansive repertoire in a range of styles. Through her innovative collaborations, Chase is forging a new model for the commissioning, recording, and live performance of contemporary classical music. This resource is part of the MacArthur Fellows Program Collection.
