Robin Fleming, Historian | MacArthur Fellows Program

In this interview, 2013 MacArthur Fellow Robin Fleming, discusses the value of challenging existing historical narratives and describes the value of understanding the everyday lives of the common people in Medieval Britain. Fleming’s scholarship encompasses life in Britain from the end of the Roman occupation through the early Renaissance with a focus on material evidence unearthed by archaeologists. Fleming is changing the way historians view early medieval Britain and providing a framework for incorporating material culture into the writing of history. This resource is part of the MacArthur Fellows Program Collection.
