Space Math: Scale of the Solar System

Answer questions related to space exploration with these math problem sets from NASA. Nine sets of problems from the Year of the Solar System Real-World Math guide require the use of proportions, unit multipliers, scientific notation, and geometry to calculate distances and sizes of planets and determine travel times to the planets. The problem sets are titled: How Big Is Our Solar System?; Visiting the Planets at the Speed of Light!; Travel Times by Spacecraft Around the Solar System; A Matter of Timing; Planetary Alignments; Unit Conversions III; The Relative Sizes of the Sun and Stars; and Scientific Notation I. Answer keys are also provided.
