Jewel Box Sun

This video, based on data from NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO), features images of the Sun created from a wide range of wavelengths of light that the human eye can and cannot see, each wavelength represented by a different color. Specialized instruments in the SDO telescopes collect light in different wavelengths and then convert the information into colorized images of the Sun, such as the ones seen in this video. Each wavelength reveals different information about features of the Sun and the activity happening there.
