Brood Parasitism in Greater Honeyguides: Surviving by Deceiving

This video from NATURE’s Natural Born Hustlers III shows how greater honeyguides, a type of bird in sub-Saharan Africa, deceives other birds to secure the survival of future generations of their species. The honeyguide is an example of a brood parasite, relying on others to incubate and rear their offspring. Once hatched, the honeyguide chicks often take extreme and violent measures to reduce their individual competition and survive.
