Jim McDowell | Muse Moments

Jim McDowell is a potter from Asheville, North Carolina. He practices the long tradition of making face jugs. Face jugs were made in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia by enslaved African-Americans during the mid-1800s.

McDowell also performs and explains the story of Dave Drake, who was a slave potter in the 1800s.
