Dr. Kuo-Huang Han, visiting professor of ethnomusicology at the University of Kentucky, demonstrates the erhu, a Chinese instrument similar to the violin. Then he describes the piece “Flower Ball-Dance,” a traditional dance piece with a few modern additions. The University of Kentucky Chinese Ensemble performs the piece.
