Portrait of a Young Thomas Edison, circa 1865
This historic photograph portrays a young Thomas Edison. At age 12, Edison took a job selling newspapers, magazines, and candy on a train between Port Huron, Michigan, the town he lived in, and Detroit. Before long, he was printing and selling his own newspaper to passengers. This demonstrated his entrepreneurial nature. This resource is part of the Thomas Edison Collection.
