Corporal Margaret Hastings

Corporal Hastings was a member of the female branch of the U.S. Army, Women's Army Corps, or WAC's. In 1944 she survived a plane crash in the jungles of Papua, New Guinea. She endured extreme hardships after this event but eventually was rescued and had a hero's welcome upon her return to Owego, NY.
