Indian Pride | Treaties and Sovereignty | Part 3
Sister Betty Jean of the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut tells the story of a Mohegan elder who made a basket as a gift for a relative. On the way, he needs to quench his thirst and asks a farmer for some cider. When the farmer tries to deny the elder some cider by trying to trick him, the elder uses resources around him to teach the farmer a lesson about respecting elders and avoiding violence in conflict resolution.
