Meet medical student Myron Rolle in this video profile from NOVA’s “The Secret Life of Scientists & Engineers.” Myron’s interest in medicine was sparked by his older brother’s giving him a copy of Dr. Ben Carson’s influential book, Gifted Hands. This put him on the path to becoming a Rhodes Scholar and earning a master’s in medical anthropology at Oxford. After returning from Oxford, he was briefly a professional player in the NFL. Realizing that his true purpose is to help people, Myron walked away from the gridiron and is now studying to become a neurosurgeon.
