Meet global ophthalmologist Geoff Tabin in this video profile from NOVA’s “The Secret Life of Scientists & Engineers.” His early career goal was to become a mountain guide; however, when he traveled to Nepal, he realized that there was a need to help the blind. Ninety percent of blind people come from the poorest countries in the world, and 85% of those people are curable. Today, Geoff travels around the world curing blindness by performing cataract surgeries. Aside from changing thousands of lives, he also invented bungee jumping.
