Bird Colonies | Gorongosa Park: Rebirth of Paradise
Learn about bird colonies in this clip from Gorongosa Park: Rebirth of Paradise. Wildlife cameraman Bob Poole returns to a transformed Gorongosa National Park -- the annual rains have flooded the plains and forests, turning what was a dustbowl into a water world. Bob mounts a boating expedition to explore the park at this special time of year and discovers a huge nesting colony of water birds (Yellow and Open Billed Storks, Cormorants) that proves to be one of the greatest birding spectacles in Africa. He spends weeks up a tree hoping to film Yellow Billed Stork eggs hatching.
