Peer into Mandrin cave in southern France, where archaeologists recently uncovered evidence of arrowheads made by Homo sapiens within a layer of earth sandwiched between other layers of artefacts made by Neanderthals. This evidence suggests that Homo sapiens and Neanderthals lived together in southern France 50,000 years ago, moving in and out of each other's territory as equals.
