This video from the American Masters film Willa Cather: The Road Is All explores Cather’s role as the managing editor of McClure’s magazine.  The years that Cather spent at one of the nation’s leading periodicals helped her hone her craft as a writer and taught her valuable lessons about the publishing world.  This resource may be used in ELA or creative writing courses to highlight the importance of frequent reading for developing students’ writing skills.
