How Fear Rules the Oyster Reef | In the Grass, On the Reef

This video explains the difference between consumptive and nonconsumptive predator effects. It also shows that these effects may impact various animal species in different ways. Fear plays a large role on the oyster reef. Predators can have a large impact on other animal species without eating them. By scaring other animals, predators on the reef may actually benefit oyster as well. Dr. David Kimbro explains the difference between consumptive and nonconsumptive effects and investigates the impact that each has on the reef and the services provided by oysters.
