Cooking With the Stars

Students are engaged in a dialogue to learn how astronomers know what stars are made of and what we all are made of. How can astronomers study the make up of stars? After all, we can’t go to a star (like the Sun) and bring back a spoonful of material to the laboratory for examination in a test tube. Students learn how light and spectroscopy gives us these answers.
