This is a segment from a one-woman play called Liz’s Circus Story. The story is about a woman’s experience working for a small traveling circus and is based on a true story. In this scene, years after she worked for the circus, after a few disappointing years pursuing acting in New York City, Liz has returned to do advance work for the circus. She tells the story of a circus worker named Killer who has found a sense of purpose working for the circus—so perhaps there is hope for other “lost souls.”
