Dengue fever and Chikunganyu are serious viral illnesses spread by mosquitos, but a vaccine was developed to prevent the cascade effect. Vaccine hunters, using basic research and hypothesis testing, have discovered a genetic modification protocol that makes the virus non viable in humans. Researchers at the North Carolina State University are teaming up with Arbovax, a start-up company, to gain financial interest in supplying the vaccine to the public.
