World War II Veteran Lou Fern
- Captain, Army Air Corps | Georgia Oral History

Lou Fern, born in New York in March of 1918, served with Army Air Corps in Europe and North Africa. Mr. Fern discusses how you capture a quarter-of-a-million German soldiers, why you need a twelve-foot-pole to jump out of an airplane, and how it feels to be simultaneously attacked by Americans who think you're a Nazi and Nazis who know you're an American.
