Brigadier General (Ret.) Harold Dye, born November 1, 1917 in Alabama, was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army serving in the European Theater. He recounts the experience of being among the first to liberate Buchenwald concentration camp, the treatment of prisoners after V-E day, and his thoughts about the Atomic bomb being dropped.
