Brigadier General (Ret.) Harold Dye, born November 1, 1917 in Alabama, was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army serving in the European Theater. He recounts fighting German batteries while crossing the Rhine River, the experience of being among the first to liberate Buchenwald concentration camp, and his thoughts about the Atomic bomb being dropped.
