This episode of NJEA’s Classroom Close-up features a computer/technology laboratory class called Synergistics that builds problem solving, communication and team building skills. Synergistics is part of Saddle Brook Middle and High School teacher Howard Weinberg’s approach to better prepare students for the 21st century. A Synergistic Suite is based around team challenges that include forensic science, intelligent systems, engineering, and multi-media components. Different teams work simultaneously on different challenges. All team members have specific roles to play, and student leaders help encourage and manage their teams.
