Plan Your Future

In this episode of NJEA’s Classroom Close-up, ninth graders at Abraham Clark High School are using a web-based program to develop Personalized Student Learning Plans, or PSLPs. First, students take assessments to identify their skills and interests. Then, they use this information to investigate careers and colleges, plan the courses they will take, and keep records of activities and course work completed at school. Advisors meet with the students monthly and discuss the student’s progress. Because the program is web-based, students can continue to use it throughout high school, college or training, and after they have entered the work force.
