El Barrio Guardarraya de Patillas recibe su nombre casi medio siglo antes de su fundación. Fué protagonista de una de las batallas más feroces entre españoles y piratas que acechaban nustras costas. El sector costero Cofresí fué protagonista y es vivo recuerdo de nuestra historia como pueblo.

The Barrio (neighborhood) Guardarraya de Patillas received its name almost half a century before its foundation.  It was the site of one of the most fierce battles between Spaniards and pirates who lurked in the Puerto Rican coast.  The coast of Cofresí is a live record of the history of the Puerto Rican people.
