Teachers help fifth grade students deepen their knowledge of word recognition and phonics skills. Students identify and discuss word recognition skills, including recognizing Latin and Greek roots. Students use their knowledge of sound/spelling correspondences, syllabication patterns and morphology to read accurately and with full comprehension.
