National Soaring Museum

The National Soaring Museum is one of two museums in the country dedicated to motor-less flight. In the 1930’s Elmira was chosen to develop a glider program to help train pilots for the war effort. In 1969 Harris Hill was dedicated as the site for the National Soaring Museum that now houses the world’s largest collection of motor-less aircrafts.
