The effects of television have had major impact on life in the United States. For a new generation of Baby Boomers, it was almost magical. However, that magical entertainment was tempered with images of violence both from the Civil Rights Movement and from the Vietnam War. All of these things, have left lasting impacts on the people who grew up watching, sometimes with remembrances of television even showing up in other art forms.
