Kerry Cancels Middle East Visit as U.S.-led Peace Negotiations Hit New Hurdle
Bring students up to date on the Middle East peace talks between Israel and Palestine with this PBS NewsHour video from April 2, 2014. Secretary of State John Kerry had been scheduled to resume Middle East diplomatic efforts with a visit to the region. It had been widely reported that the U.S. is considering the release of a convicted spy as part of the negotiation process. But an announcement from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas caused Kerry to cancel his trip.
